Cha-do

Cha-do is Japanese and means "Way of Tea". It is strongly influenced by Zen and meant to be one way besides others to satori, i.e. enlightenment. Savoring tea in a true Zen spirit requires a calm and serene atmosphere. With this shot I tried to capture a glimpse of that.

For the curious: the tea in the foreground is "Tian Shan Yin Hao", a delicious white tea.




I have to say that I like the overall atmosphere and composition of this photo, nevertheless I am not altogether satisfied with the present outcome. I'd like to hear your opinion on the picture in general and maybe some of the following aspects in particular.
1) Retrospectively I came to belief that the DoF is too shallow. It would have been nice if the cup had been a bit sharper. I should have increased the f-stop.
2) What do you think of the color of the tea in focus? Maybe it's too dark?
